INSANE facts about his money and himself: BILL GATES

We all know Bill Gates. He’s one of the very few people who are filthy-rich, and still regarded as a “good person” by the public. He wouldn't lie about anything (except maybe how stable Microsoft Windows really is). His assets are worth $72 billion.

So how exactly did he start his empire?

His first sale of a computer program was made when he was 17 years old. He sold a time-tabling system to his high school for $4200. He always knew he’d be rich. In his school, he said he’d be a millionaire by 30. By 31, he was a billionaire. He topped the Forbes richest list from 1995-2007 and once more in 2009.

These riches gave rise to power. He is a man who says ‘Yes’ and ‘No’ to nations. If Bill Gates were a country, he’d be the 37th richest country in the world. It literally isn't worth his time to pick up a $100 bill that he dropped. His existing wealth, along with the rate at which it’s growing, earns him $114 every second. He could be doing a lot more valuable stuff with his time, than pick up fallen notes.

But he’s retired now.. so how exactly does he spend all his time, and more importantly, how does he spend all his money? Because he is a big spender. He’s spent $26 billion in the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation, including a $10 billion donation for vaccine research.

So... any chance he can run out of money? Well, if he’s going to live for another 10 years, let’s say, he can afford to spend $6 million every day of the rest of his life. It sounds like so much, and so safe when it’s put that way, so let’s try another perspective: if he paid every Microsoft Windows user just one dollar for every time the system crashed, he’d be bankrupt in 3 days flat.
Well, he obviously won’t be so stupid as to do anything like that, so what does he do? With his time, he still works as a non-executive director, and works one day a week. With his money, he’s decided to leave over 90%+ of his enormous wealth to charity, leaving only a minuscule amount for his two children. This is a joint decision made by Bill and Melinda Gates. This is what Bill Gates had to say about it:

“I don’t think that amount of money is good for them. They will receive an unbelievable education, and that will all be paid for. Anything related to health issues we will take care of, but in terms of income, they’ll have to pick a job they like and go to work”
